NATIONAL CURRICULUM – COURSE UPDATES
As soon as the recent amendments to the National Curriculum were announced we began to make the required changes, both major and minor, to our material. The work has progressed well and we now have a complete set of new maths courses in place from Years 1- 9 and are well on the way to completing the revisions to our humanities courses in Years 1-6 and the separate courses in Years 7-9. We have also introduced a new Year 7 science course and this will be followed by Year 8 from September 2018. Alongside this work we have also found time to introduce a new nursery course for children aged 3-4 and to completely revise and update our reception course for children aged 4-5. Although our English courses do meet the new requirements we have decided to introduce some very good new textbooks and are currently rewriting the KS2 courses.
Over the last 12 months we have been delighted to welcome new families to WES and many more are scheduled to start their courses soon.
We are also working with new groups and schools who are looking to use WES materials with their pupils. As always we have families living and working all over the world as well as the fortunate families either sailing or taking gap years with their children.
